Bird Biographies on "Our Birds":
The sweet and gentle Buff Orpington, our original breed. Weighing in at about 8 lbs, these hens lay medium to large brown eggs consistently during warmer months and sporadically during the winter.
The infamous Black Australorp, our latest addition. These friendly and well-mannered hens weigh about 6 1/2 lbs and hold the record of 364 eggs for the most consecutive eggs laid in a 365 day period – that’s one busy bird!
Buff/Leghorn Cross – This gorgeous fellow was hatched from our own brood last fall and is quickly stepping up to his role as “Protector of the Brood”.
