What Will They Think Of Me?

Have you ever stopped writing or held yourself back because you didn't want people to know what you write about? You didn't want them to know about the things that cross your mind. Or you worried about what they might think. What if they think you're a messed up freak? Or a quack who talks about the supernatural? Or a crazy person who rips people off by selling "snake oils"?

The world is full of critics. It doesn't matter if you're a writer, an entrepreneur, or an accountant. There will always be critics who will criticize you for what you do or say and get you to question yourself. Even if you think you are doing the best you possibly can, there will be someone who will try to cut you down. Sometimes that person might even be you.

Where am I going with this?

I want you to know that when you are following your passion and living according to your true self, the one God designed you to be, even when you run up against criticism, there are people out there who need to hear (or read) what you have to say. There are people who need to hear your message.

Maybe your passion is to help people feel that they are not alone. Or maybe you need to help people escape from their current realities and learn new ways to live their lives. Whatever it is, if it is true to who you were designed to be, keep at it. Keep writing or doing what you do.

Be real. Be you. Ignore the critics. Don't worry about what people might think. You're not responsible for how anyone else behaves, reacts, or feels. You are only responsible for YOU and what you do and what you say. Be honest and be loving. Be your best.

When you hold yourself back, you're not just hurting yourself. You're hurting the people who need to hear from you. God didn't put you on this earth so you could benefit only yourself. He meant for you to use your talents and abilities to do good works and to have a positive impact on others.

So, stop holding yourself back. Get your message out there and keep moving forward. Press through all of the criticism, the rejection, the embarrassment, and the uncertainty and learn how to be your best self. I believe in you. Will you step up and take the reins?
