Let’s Not Talk About March

Let's Not Talk About March Dear Blog, Boy, a lot has changed since I last wrote. Except when it comes to my monthly word count totals. Ugh, let's not talk about the dark days of March. On the bright side, I shouldn't have too hard a time beating March's word count. I'm really trying to see the positive here. Okay, so we have a new month ahead of us. It's April (you know, in case you didn't know). The weather is slowly starting to warm up (YAY!). And I hear the peak of that COVID-19 curve is expected about mid-month for the United States. Sometimes You Just Need a Self-Intervention

Sometimes You Just Need a Self-Intervention Dear Blog, It's been a while since I last wrote. The truth is, I didn't do any writing. This past month has been frustrating. I've hardly written a thing. My current project has not been flowing through my fingers like the last one did during my 14-day plan. It's been a complete...

Distractions, Stress, Oh My!

Distractions, Stress, Oh My! Dear Blog, It’s been a while since I last wrote an article for you. I’ve grappled with not feeling like I have anything to say and feeling too overwhelmed with self-imposed deadlines to want to spend the time to write your articles. I also have three needy pets who add to my stress levels whenever they want to cuddle or get attention. The moaning and grunting gets really annoying. Anyway, I have a plan. To sit down twice a week and just write what comes out. I’m so often distracted by things like needy pets, the ringing phone, the noises the refrigerator makes, the random sounds of our old 1949 home, and just about anything that moves or makes a sound. Or when the cat splashes his paw in the water pail before taking a drink. I guess that means I’m too highly tuned to being distracted that just about anything distracts me. Which leads to another obvious reason - anxiety. What...
