Realizations About Tracking Progress Dear Blog, Last Monday I wrote about goal setting. About giving up our freedoms to things that are easier. Well, today, I want to talk about the reasoning behind the goals. If you've been following me for a while, you probably know I like to track my progress. I've been doing it daily for my writing since 2017. You probably also know I've been trying to get into the habit of tracking progress in other areas, like language study and water intake. If we don't track progress, do we really know how we're doing? If we don't write it down, did it really happen? It's easy to forget how much we're progressing if we don't track it in some way. Goals, Productivity, and Happiness

Goals, Productivity, and Happiness Dear Blog, Over the last couple of weeks, I've written about tracking progress, so today I thought I’d share some results and try to offer a tip or two. I’d also like to stress, again, the importance of writing it down. I didn’t do so hot last week taking my own advice. But my husband’s been home this whole time so I’m cutting myself some slack. I’ll get back on track soon. While I honestly don’t know what all I did and what I didn’t, I do know some things. With the exception of one day, I’ve been writing my minimum daily word count of 250 words, with lots of days well over that. Yesterday, I “donated” words to make up for that so my word tracking spreadsheet still looks beautiful. Should I be happy about that? Shouldn’t I be disappointed that I didn’t actually meet the goal?
