3 Blogging Tips to Keep Up With Your Blog Writing & Editorial Calendar

Are you struggling with your blog? Need some blogging tips to help you keep up with your editorial calendar?

Blogging can bog you down to the point of exhaustion. Some days you just don't know what to blog about and you stress out about it. But you've already committed to blogging consistently, so you press on. And you know you should be blogging because someday, if you keep at it, it will pay off. You also understand that once you start a blog, you can't just stop. You need to maintain consistency.

But, how do you make it easier on yourself to blog on a regular basis? Follow these three blogging tips and you'll be set for life.

Define Your Why to Blog

Determine why you're blogging in the first place. Without a valid reason to blog, you'll justify why it isn't necessary every time. So, why blog? Do you want to gain more business through blog marketing? Do you have a passion for your topic and want to provide readers with helpful advice?

Determine Your Blog Topics

Next, decide what you will blog about. Will you blog about something specific like how to use blog marketing to increase revenue, or something more broad like parenting? Figure out what you want to provide readers, then stick to it. Sticking with a set topic will give your blog a consistent feel and your readers will know what to expect when they come back to visit (that's why they came back).

Create a Blog Schedule

After you've decided why you're blogging and what you'll blog about, ask yourself: How often will I blog?

Knowing how often you will publish blog posts will give you a better idea of your editorial calendar, allowing you to plan your posts accordingly. Generate enough ideas and content to maintain your deadlines. Set firm deadlines. Don't falter. Just push through no matter what. Now that doesn't mean write any old crap. You still need to provide quality work. Your readers will appreciate the extra time you took to ensure you not only provided valuable content that speaks to them, but also corrected all possible grammar, spelling, and word choice mistakes.

Blogging should be fun and worthwhile, so develop a plan, stick to it, and reap the rewards when they come!
