Key Tip for Creating Effective Email Marketing Content

Creating quality email marketing content is critical to building long-lasting relationships with your customers. Last week, we talked about the importance of providing valuable information to your enewsletter readers. Today, I wanted to take it a step further and talk about how to figure out what content to provide.

Email Marketing Content Creation Tip

One effective way to get the ideas flowing is to think about the emails that you send to your friends. When building relationships with your readers, it's important to not just provide valuable content but provide it in a professional yet friendly manner. Think about the types of content you would send to your friends.

A typical email would be either a personal letter or something you think would interest your friend. You wouldn't send a standard sales pitch. You would send a friendly email that said something along the lines of, "Hey, I know you've been struggling with ________, and I thought this ________ would interest you. I really think it could help you ______."

Sending a direct sales pitch to a friend would be a turn-off. But if you can weave it into an easy-going, helpful or informative message that shows that you do genuinely care about your friend's specific problem and offers a viable solution, the information would be better received. They still might not be interested, but it would demonstrate that you took the time to help and that you care.

Email marketing to your prospects should be treated the same way.

If you don't geniunely care about your prospect and helping him solve an urgent, pressing problem, it may be time to reconsider the product or service that you offer.

Establishing a strong customer-centric culture for your business is a big first step to building meaningful, long-term relationships with your prospects and customers. Maintaining customer loyalty is more than a one-time deal. Just like with any healthy relationship, customer loyalty takes constant upkeep. Satisfied customers are not guaranteed loyal customers.

Creating email marketing content doesn't have to be complicated. Just think about the information your friends would be interested in if they struggled with the type of problem you help solve. Focus on being helpful, informative, caring, geniune, and professional.
