3 Simple Tips to Planning Your Next eBook For Publication

Writing an ebook is an exciting adventure. We have a message to share with the world and we can’t wait to get it out and start impacting the lives of others.

That excitement drives our momentum and keeps us going to the very end.

Unless…

We hit a road bump along the way. Many bumps can occur along the road to writing an ebook, making our journey to publication stressful, laborious, and seem never-ending.

Fortunately, there are some ways to prevent big bumps in the road. For today’s article, I’m going to share three ways we can prevent these bumps.

Have a solid message.

Know your message by spending some time defining exactly what you want to share with your readers. What is your message? What do you really want to share? If your readers retain just one thing from your ebook, what do you want it to be?

Brainstorm your topic.

Have plenty of ideas handy so you can keep moving forward during the writing process (this is key!). How much information will you give your readers? Is your ebook an overview or a comprehensive guide? What are your main points? What are your sub-points? Spend some time writing a rough outline for your chapters and sections to help you stay on track.

Gather your data.

Do you want to share statistics, quotations from other experts, or references from research papers? Write down facts and information that you would like to include in your ebook. With your data gathered ahead of time, you’ll be able to pull material directly from your notes instead of having to track down supporting facts and information during the writing process.

What has helped you get through the process of bringing a book to publication? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
