The First Step to Achieving Your Big Writing Dreams

A while back, I wrote a post about keeping ourselves in check by not setting too high of writing goals. The point of the post was that by setting goals that are too high, we become overwhelmed by the task and we freeze up. I talked about setting smaller goals and achieving those to build momentum.

Well, after rereading Do the Work by Steven Pressfield, I’ve changed my mind. So, enough of what I said before about scaling back on your writing goals to avoid overwhelm.

We don’t need to stop ourselves from dreaming big and setting high goals. What we need is a strong belief system and a willingness to try new things and to risk failing miserably.

It’s time to stop playing small and go for the BIG writing dreams.

Let’s stop wasting our time worrying about not having enough time to work on our dreams or failing at our goals.

And let’s stop beating ourselves up about not writing as much as we want to. If we want to write more, we need to quit complaining and get to work. We need to make our fingers fly across the keyboard. It’s as simple as that.

It’s time to get more involved with our dreams and get busy. Let’s do the work!

Spend enough time brainstorming and fuel your creativity with new things and by writing things down. Often we don’t realize we have so much material hidden within us until we take the time to sit down and write.

If you don’t take the time to think things through by writing them down, you’ll feel like a hopeless aspiring writer with nothing to say.

Last week, I talked about establishing the writer’s voice. All of the answers are within you. If you take the time, you’ll find out more than you think you need.

Step into your new life and make a commitment to dream BIG and take action today!
